Second marriage without divorce in Bangladesh is illegal and punishable criminal offence under the penal of Bangladesh. According to Muslim law a Muslim man can marry upto four women. but a man cannot marry another persons wife without having divorce by following proper legal procedure. a husband or wife can not marry again without completing the divorce procedure. if a husband or wife marry again without divorce then he or she have done a criminal offence. and this offence is punishable under the penal code of Bangladesh.

According to the Section 494 of Bangladesh Penal code, if any husband or wife marry again without divorce of his current husband or wife then he or she shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine. according to penal code a case can filed under section 494, 495, 497 against those husband or wife.

marriage register is also liable for this type of marriage and you can also file a case against that register.
